Mostly good (big screen, OSX, Wi-Fi, Safari), a couple of sticking points.
I know some people aren't happy with the idea of moving away from physical buttons, I'm not so worried about this for a few reasons: 1) Knowing how much better the trackpad is on my MacBook compared to by Dell I know that Apple can do this sort of thing very well. 2) I'm also suffering now from the keypad on my (a bit over a) year old Sony Ericsson dying a slow sticky death and generaly being unresponsive and I won't miss that. 3) I can't do anything much on my current phone without looking at the screen and I'll happily swap some tactile response for a bigger screen and the chance at last to access the web from anywhere.
My main niggle so far with the phone is that some of the specs seam a little backwards for the European Market, for example: most people I know are running a 3G phone with at least a 3MP camera, both features I'd consider pretty basic in a new handset, the iPhone appears to be 2G (or maybe 2.5G) and only has a 2MP camera, this doesn't compare will now and I'm wondering how it will look when it arrives in Europe in 9 to 12 months.
Finally for me, I need a new phone now, so I'm going to have to pick a handset anyway (if it was available I think I'd plump for a Nokia N95) so I'm most likely to be picking up the 2nd gen iPhone not the 1st.
