We had a strange day at work yesterday; due to severe winds the derilict building next to our office in Holbeck became unsafe and threatened to collapse onto us (it's only a couple of meters away from our main room). Sometime after 14:00 some builders who are working on the redevelopment and the fire service made the call to evacuate the neighbouring buildings so we grabbed our lap-tops and made a dash for it. We retired to the Cross Keys (local pub) for the rest of the afternoon and awaited news on the situation, though it became clear quite quickly we wouldn't be getting back in soon.
Today the latest news is that we may be out of our own office until next week sometime though we should have access to the rest of the building. Fortunately we're set up really quite well for remote working and that's what we're all doing today, keeping in touch via email, skype and messenger.
